Staying Grounded Through the Wild West of Diabetes Management

Diabetes care is changing fast. New technologies, new therapies, and more data than ever before can bring incredible opportunity—but can also feel overwhelming.

In this session, Lance Bass, who lives with type 1 diabetes, and Anita Swamy, MD, Associate Clinician at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago; Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine; and Medical Director of the Chicago Children’s Diabetes Center at La Rabida Children’s Hospital, come together for an honest, grounded conversation about navigating today’s ever-evolving diabetes landscape.

Together, they’ll explore how Dexcom continuous glucose monitoring, automated insulin delivery systems, and new medications are reshaping care—and why more options don’t always make decisions easier. Whether you’re newly diagnosed, considering a change, or well into your diabetes journey, this discussion will reflect the real-life questions people with diabetes and their support persons face every day.
