Sara Garretson

Sara Garretson is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist with over a decade of experience in diabetes care, nutrition therapy, and chronic disease management. At Dexcom, she serves on the Clinical Education team, supporting education resources for healthcare professionals on the value of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), how CGM data can be used in practice, and the expanding role of CGM and other biosensing technologies in diabetes and metabolic health management.

Prior to joining Dexcom, Sara provided medical nutrition therapy and diabetes education in outpatient, telehealth, and private practice settings, including education on the use of diabetes technology such as CGM and connected devices. She worked with people with diabetes, prediabetes, and other cardiometabolic conditions using a patient-centered approach that emphasized nutrition counseling, lifestyle interventions, and behavior change strategies.

Through this work, she saw firsthand how CGM could help people better understand their glucose patterns and feel more confident making lifestyle changes to improve their health. Today, her work focuses on supporting healthcare providers in the expanding use of CGM and helping clinicians integrate CGM insights into patient care.
