Joycelyn Ashby Cornthwaite
Joycelyn “Joy” Ashby Cornthwaite, MBA, MS, RD, LD, CDCES, leads diabetes programming within UT Physicians Women’s Clinics at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth, part of the Texas Medical Center in Houston. She directs program strategy, clinical training, and research integration within a leading academic medical environment.
She holds an MBA with a healthcare focus from Yale University and advanced clinical training in nutrition and kinesiology.
Joy has built and scaled accredited diabetes and women’s health programs across hospital, outpatient, and community settings. She combines frontline clinical expertise with systems-level strategy to strengthen multidisciplinary teams and drive measurable outcomes.
Her work sits at the intersection of patient experience, digital health, and operational design. She integrates diabetes education into routine clinical workflows, ensuring care models are evidence-based, operationally sustainable, and designed to elevate standards of diabetes care. She is deeply committed to advancing care that is rigorous, practical, and responsive to the people and communities it serves.
