Protecting the Next Generation: Early CGM, AID, and Practical Strategies for Pediatric Diabetes Care
Advances in continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) and automated insulin delivery (AID) have transformed the management of type 1 diabetes in children and adolescents. This session will review current evidence supporting early technology adoption, discuss evolving professional society recommendations, and explore practical strategies for integrating CGM and AID into pediatric diabetes care. Participants will examine considerations for technology implementation, patient and caregiver education, and maintaining technology use through key transitions in care.
The program will also highlight how Dexcom CGM features such as remote monitoring and customizable alerts can support diabetes management. By the end of the session, attendees will be able to summarize current evidence for early CGM and AID use, discuss guideline-based approaches to technology adoption, and identify practical strategies to support successful implementation and ongoing engagement in pediatric populations.
