Shetal Desai Rautela, RDN, CDCES, is a registered dietitian and diabetes care and education specialist with more than 15 years of expertise in diabetes, metabolic health, and child nutrition.
Through her private practice, Diabetes & Lifestyle Care, she provides virtual patient care and consulting services using a culturally responsive, weight-neutral, lifestyle-as-medicine approach that integrates food, movement, sleep, and stress management.
She serves as a CDCES at Stanford Medicine Children’s Health, offering nutrition and lifestyle education for managing gestational diabetes. A strong advocate for diabetes technology and CGM-first approaches, Shetal empowers people to understand their glucose patterns and translate data into sustainable, personalized lifestyle changes.
Her work within an endocrinologist-led multidisciplinary team, integrating CGM-first care into virtual care settings, has been published in leading clinical journals, reflecting her commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care. She has served on the advisory boards of Stelo and Dexcom and has shared her real-world expertise in glucose biosensor technology as a co-presenter at the Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo 2024/25.
